Loved it! Everything about the place was full of character. The floorboards and beds were so creaky sounding that simply turning over as you go off to sleep sends a tsunami of sound across the room and probably outside in the hallway. No good for lovers! The staff are wonderful and the food great. I hope they never update the place - it's great! Car park is tiny but there is a free public car park nearby.

Lovely place, clean, and friendly. I had my hen party in the spa and afternoon tea in the restaurant we ended up with the room to ourselves it was great fun deffinatly would recommend.
A wonderful place to stay. The rambling building has a warm and charming character. The staff are kind and welcoming. And the food knocks the spots off any of the chain hotels. The internet is a little limited, but the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. All in all a comfortable place to rest your head.
Stayed for one night as we were going to Scarborough next day to collect new vehicle.Room was very clean, bed was rather soft for us but slept well.The shower had very low pressure and only produced a dribble at head height.The breakfast (full English) was perfect, there was plenty of toast and coffee.The car park was very tight and required extremely careful manoeuvring to get in and out.Overall an interesting stay in a period building.
